A Philadelphia woman was arrested earlier this week after she was found on the roof of the Walmart in Tullytown Borough.

Rita Lawton, 30, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Robert Wagner Jr. on charges of criminal trespass and public drunkenness. She was sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $25,000.

Tulltown officers were called to the Levittown Town Center around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday for a suspicious person in the area of the Home Depot. They arrived to find that a woman had used some electrical infrastructure by the Subway restaurant to gain access to the roof of the shopping center, according to court papers.

An officer ended up spotting Lawton on the roof and realize he had contact with the 30 year old earlier for items that were possibly taken from Walmart, police said.

During the previous interaction, Lawton appeared to be intoxicated and stated she was on klonopin, which impares her memory, police said.

An officer went on the roof of the Walmart while another officer of the ground advised Lawton to stay where she was until law enforcement were up with her, police said.

Officers helped Lawton get down from the roof via ladder before arresting her, police said.
