A man “narrowly escaped serious injury” when a crash caused a fence pole to go through his Ford Mustang, police said.
The crash happened Wednesday morning around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Beaver Street and Sixth Avenue in Bristol Borough.

Police said the Mustang driver was passing a trash truck when the car left the roadway and struck a fence, causing the metal fence pole to puncture the windshield and go through the car. The pole barely missed the driver.
The Bucks County Rescue Squad did respond to the scene, but the driver, according to police, refused treatment.
The crash remained under investigation as of Thursday.
