If Levittown’s newest Wawa becomes a reality, it could add a new traffic light along Bristol-Oxford Valley Road.
The plans for the roughly 5,000-square-foot convenience store with 12 gas pumps on a portion of the roughly five-acre property on Cinder Lane between Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and Emilie Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section received the green light for land development from the advisory Bristol Township Planning Commission.

Wawa representatives said the lot would be cut in half and the Wawa would be constructed on the portion of the property closest to Bristol-Oxford Valley Road. The building that houses Gabrielle’s Restaurant and a neighboring building would remain. The other buildings would be demolished to make way for the Wawa.
The plans call for the Wawa feature a traffic signal that would be added to the intersection of Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and Cinder Lane, representatives said. They added that Wawa plans to work with PennDOT and Bristol Township to restripe and make pedestrian improvements at the intersection.

The plans call for a driveway off Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and two off Cinder Lane. Wawa would also add a green area that would directly abut the intersection of Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and Cinder Lane.
The location where Wawa is proposed is about 1,500 feet from the Wawa at New Falls Road and Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and about 4,000 feet from the location on Emilie Road. Both locations are older Wawa designs and do not have gas pumps, a common feature at newer Wawa loactions.

Wawa representatives said they plan to close the nearby Wawa on New Falls Road and are not certain about the future of the Emilie Road location.
In summer, the township approved conditional use from the Zoning Hearing Board to use the proposed Wawa as a gas station.
Wawa representatives next plan to head to Zoning Hearing Board.
