The Neshaminy School District and the teachers’ union have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract.
The district said the five-year deal between the school system and the 600-plus member Neshaminy Federation of Teachers would cover the 2019-2020 school year through the 2023-2024 school year.

Specific details on the contract proposal were not immediately available, but the district called it a “fair and fiscally responsible contract.”
The most recent contract expired on June 30.
“The Board and NFT will each be meeting to ratify the tentative agreement in the coming weeks. The details will be presented to the public prior to a vote by the Board,” the district and teachers’ union said in a statement.

This is the third round of contract negotiations following an ugly five-year impasse that ended in 2013 after garner attention from media around the nation.
