A 33-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly attempted to get into a home.

A resident reported last Thursday around 2:54 p.m. that a man was attempting to get into her home through a window in the 50 block of Goldenridge Drive in Bristol Township’s Levittown section. The resident then reported a description of the man and said he fled in a silver vehicle, according to court papers.

While Bristol Township officers were looking for the suspect nearby, the vehicle described by the 9-1-1 caller passed. The officer ended up stopping the vehicle with a man and woman inside at Goldenridge Drive and Goodrock Road, police said.

The resident reportedly identified Joseph Patrick Cannon, a resident of Bristol Township’s Levittown section, as the man who attempted to get into her home. She also stated she believed a woman was in the silver car that fled from her home with the man inside.

The woman who was with Cannon told investigators that the 33 year old wanted her to be a lookout during a burglary so he could get money for drugs, police said.

The woman additionally told police that Cannon fled after seeing a resident in the home on Goldenridge Drive.

Cannon was charged with two counts of burglary and a single count of defiant trespass. He was arraigned before on-call District Judge Mark Douple.
