
A small fire was discovered inside a closed Bristol Township school Saturday evening.
Firefighters from the Levittown No. 1, Levittown No. 2, and Edgely fire companies were called to the closed George Washington Elementary School on Crabtree Drive in Levittown around 8:45 p.m.

Levittown No. 2 Fire Company Chief Chris Shortt said firefighters arrived to find a light smokey haze and a small rubbish fire in the gymnasium.
The fire was quickly dealt with and there was no serious damage to the school, Shortt said.
A neighbor reportedly told firefighters kids were spotted going into the closed school shortly before the small blaze.

In May, an arson damaged the closed Abraham Lincoln Elementary School on Plumtree Place.
The Washington, Lincoln, and John Fitch elementary schools are set to be sold to developer John McGrath’s firm for $1.2 million sometime in the coming months. He plans to construct a 55-plus development with a mix of flats and apartments on the school sites.
