One of the Bristol Township School District’s closed elementary schools was damaged in an intentionally set fire Saturday evening.

Firefighters from multiple companies were called to the Abraham Lincoln Elementary School on Plumtree Place in Bristol Township’s Levittown section around 5:30 p.m. for the blaze. A photo from a LevittownNow.com reader shows smoke coming from the building.

Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said the fire that started in the auditorium of the vacant school was ruled an arson.

No injuries were reported.

The site of the closed school is slated to be a 55-plus development with a mix of flats and apartments. If those plans are formally submitted and approved, the former school would be knocked down.
