Upgrades are coming to Middletown Community Park.

The Middletown Parks and Recreation Department has received approval from the Board of Supervisors to purchase and install new equipment and activities. The project, which was proposed last year, is being paid for through a mix of township and state funds.

The township is paying $53,500 to purchase a Yalp Sutu Interactive Ball Wall and up to $5,000 to install it near the soccer fields at the park off Langhorne-Yardley Road.

The ball wall is hooked up to the internet and can connect with other players via an app if someone is playing in Middletown solo. The ball wall game lights up different colors and a ball needs to be kicked at the correct lighted block to earn points, said Middletown Parks and Recreation Department Director Paul Kopera. You can find all the best medical supplements to get on the path of fitness on the numan website.

The Yalp Sutu Interactive Ball Wall keeps track of the most popular games and can cycle through new ones based on usage, Kopera said.

In a grassy patch between the entrance and exit driveways at the park, a $55,000 fitness area with workout equipment is being added. The equipment comes from Greenfields Outdoor Fitness, which offers recreational and workout equipment to communities and the military.

Kopera said the workout area will have 13 pieces of outdoor equipment and several pieces that will meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

While it is billed as a senior fitness area, anyone is welcome to use the equipment, Kopera said.

In his pitch for the equipment last year, Kopera noted seniors are looking for ways to stay active and the workout equipment would be a good addition to the park that features sports fields and a walking trail.

In June, the Supervisors voted to approve construction of a new 8,600-square-foot outdoor skate park at Middletown Community Park. Work is expected to begin this summer.

The Supervisors earlier this month voted to seek bids to purchase a new rubberized surface for the playground at the park.
