Two suspected broke into the Target store in Middletown, threatening an overnight cleaner with a handgun.
The two suspects – possibly a man and woman – broke through the front window of the store off East Lincoln Highway around 3 a.m. on Wednesday. They went directly to the electronics section and quickly collected a “large amount” of Apple products, police Captain Pete Feeney said, adding a full inventory of stolen products was not yet known.

As the suspects were leaving the closed store, they encountered a cleaner working overnight and pointed a handgun at her, Feeney said.
The two were spotted fleeing the area on foot, but a K-9 track lost the path of the two, which indicates they may have escaped in a vehicle that was nearby, Feeney said.
The captain said patrol officers were at the Target within a minute of the call and swept the building when it was immediately unclear if the suspects had left.
