The investigation into an officer-involved shooting in Langhorne Borough earlier this month continues.
On Friday, Bucks County Detectives announced they are seeking the public assistance to identify a witness spotted just before the botched June 6 robbery at the 7-Eleven on Pine Street that led to a Bensalem officer assigned to an FBI task force shooting alleged crook Charles Emrich II, 53, of Langhorne Manor.

“Security camera footage shows the witness inside the store just prior to and during the robbery and shooting. He later left the premises in a small-to-midsize gray four-door car and was not interviewed by law enforcement. Detectives are looking to speak with all eyewitnesses to the incident and believe this individual may have information relevant to the ongoing investigation. He is being sought only as a witness, and not a criminal suspect,” investigators said in a Friday morning statement.
The witness pictured or anyone who has information on his identity has been asked to contact the Bucks County Detectives at 215-348-6354 and ask for Detective Timothy Campbell or Detective Michael Walp. If your call is forwarded to voicemail, leave a message and a detective will be in touch, the statement added.

Emrich was struck by two bullets after the task force officer interrupted the robbery attempt, authorities said.
No one else was injured, and Emrich is expected to be survive.
John Sugalski, 66, of Langhorne Manor, served as Emrich’s alleged getaway driver and was arrested shortly after the shooting. Sugalski, who was also Emrich’s roommate, was charged with robbery, conspiracy, and related offenses. He remains in county prison on 10 percent of $950,000 bail.

According to court papers, roughly 10 7-Eleven stores in Bucks County and Mercer County, New Jersey, were hit by suspects matching Sugalski and Emrich’s description since April. The robberies included stores in Bensalem, Penndel, Middletown, and the same Pine Street 7-Eleven in Langhorne.
The FBI is also working with county detectives as part of the probe.

Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub will make a determination if the shooting by the officer was justified.
