Living history was recognized Thursday evening by Bristol Township Council.
Mae Krier, 93, of Bristol Township’s Levittown section, received an honor from Council for her work as a Rosie the Riveter during World War II. She was also honored for advocating to get the women who helped win World War II federal recognition.

Krier briefly explained her story and the work she did on the iconic B-17 bomber fleet while working at the Boeing plant in Seattle before Council. She was greeted with applause and thanked for her service and that of the roughly 300,000 women who went to work to support the war effort.

In speaking with LevittownNow.com, Krier highlighted her recent visit to the D-Day landing zones in France for the 75th anniversary. She also spoke of her May trip to 459th Air Refueling Wing at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
Though her advocacy and that of others, Krier is hoping to get Congress to recognize all the Rosie the Riveters.
