“I’m excited to become a part of Bristol Borough school family. I believe that the school system is the heart of the community. Its success depends on the Superintendent’s ability to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students to grow and develop as learners and citizens, and to integrate quality programs and teaching strategies to foster 21st century skills while ensuring fiscal responsibility. I believe the Bristol Borough School District possesses all the fundamentals that are central to achieving great success and look forward to involving all community stakeholders in making our district the best it can be,” Minniti said in a statement.
A community forum with Minniti and moderated by Dr. Mark Hoffman, executive director of the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, will be held in the LGI Room at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School on Thursday, May 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. An informal meet-and-greet with light refreshments will take place at 6 p.m. at the school.
The community can submit questions that may be asked at the forum via an online site up until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, April 29.

The forum will also be live-streamed on the district website.
The Bristol Borough School Board plans to vote on hiring Minniti at their meeting on Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m. at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School. The vote is subject to agreement on a contract offer.

Minniti became a finalist after a months-long search that involved a community survey, feedback from stakeholders, and a search committee.
“The Board thanks the community for its involvement in this important process,” the school board said in a press release.
Minniti has worked as a teacher, professor, principal, and superintendent in Northeastern Pennsylvania. She currently is the superintendent of the 2,600-student Valley View School District in Lackawanna County.

If hired by the school board next month, Minniti would begin her job in Bristol Borough by August 1.
Shaffer announced his intention to retire this coming summer during a school board meeting last fall. He has worked in the district for roughly 30 years.
