The 16-year-old Bucks County Technical High School student who was severely hurt in a crash last week remained in critical but stable condition as of Friday evening, his mother said.

Daulton Potter’s mom, Kristin, told LevittownNow.com that he remained in the hospital and was in a medically induced coma as doctor’s worked stabilized him. He suffered life-threatening injuries and still has challenges ahead.

Potter was hurt and his friend Raymond Horner, 18, killed when they were thrown from the dirt bike the teens were riding at Virginia and Tyler Avenue in Bensalem last Friday.

Students and staff at Bristol Township-based Bucks County Technical High School along friends of the teen’s family wore flannel this week to show their support for Potter’s recovery. Photos posted on social media showed dozens of people wearing flannel clothing.

“It’s so heartwarming to see that,” Kristin Potter said of the display. “It has been hard to smile this week and that made us.”

A GoFundMe has been set up to help assist the Potter family.

Potter, a resident of Bensalem, and Horner were on the not-street-legal dirt bike and not wearing helmets when it hit a GMC Acadia that was driving, police said, adding the SUV driver was not seriously hurt.

Horner was a senior at Bensalem High School and planned to join the U.S. Marine Corps once he graduated. He will be interred on Saturday.
