Police Chase Ends Outside Fire Station

A Valentine’s Day police chase ended outside an area fire station.

Middletown police on patrol spotted a Honda Accord that was reported stolen in the area of New Falls Road and Veterans Highway (Route 413) early Thursday afternoon.

An officer attempted to stop the Honda along New Falls Road, but the driver did not stop and ended up passing cars before turning on Newportville Road, police said.

Middletown officers pursued the stolen car through Main Street in Hulmeville Borough and onto the lawn at the William Penn Fire Company station, police said.

The Honda stopped in the fire station parking lot and police ordered he driver to the ground, according to court papers.

Police said the driver – Leonard Anthony McMillan, 26, of Philadelphia – resisted arrest and struggled with officers.

During the chase, McMillan allegedly nearly hit a police vehicle.

An uncapped needle was found in the vehicle, which was reported stolen from Philadelphia, police said.

McMillan was arraigned before a district judge on charges of receiving stolen property, fleeing police, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and related offense. He was sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $200,000 bail.
