Neshaminy Bumps Income Qualification For Senior Citizen Tax Assistance Program

The Neshaminy School Board voted Tuesday evening to bump up the maximum household annual income qualification guideline for the Senior Citizen Tax Assistance Program.

The annual income qualification guideline jumps from $19,999 to $24,999.

The idea behind the tax assistance program is to aid seniors on fixed incomes stay in their homes. The money to fund the rebates has already been budgeted.

Since the program started in 1977, more than $2.6 million has been sent to seniors in the Neshaminy community.

The school board also approved a motion that allows the Bucks County Intermediate Unit to make improvements to the former Lower Southampton Elementary School, which is leased by the agency.
