A truck hauling road salt burst into flames Friday morning.
The driver of the 2017 Kenworth dump truck noticed his rig was ablaze just after 8 a.m. near the international port complex along the Delaware River and firefighters were called, Falls Township Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said.

Arriving fire crews knocked down the flames and created a dike to block the runoff so it could be disposed of properly before hitting the river.
Dippolito said the cause of the fire is unknown as of Friday afternoon.
The port complex near the Waste Management landfills includes massive piles of salt that are often used to melt snow and ice on roads around the region.
