Just in time for the Philadelphia Eagles big playoff game with the New Orleans Saints, Parx Casino in Bensalem has opened the doors on their round-the-clock Sportsbook betting operation.
With media, dignitaries, and throngs of customers coming from a list of the best NFL sportsbooks looking on, the ribbon was cut on the casino’s newest gambling operation that has taken the spot of the former 360 Lounge in the main hall.

The new Sportsbook center is only temporary and features staff to help those looking to make a wager along with 26 kiosks spread throughout the area. Although, Parx staff, was quick to point out that a large expansion at the casino will eventually see the Sportsbook center move to its own dedicated location in addition to welcoming a new beer garden.

Legal sports wagering is new in the Keystone State and has been available at a growing number of casinos since last fall. In the future, Pennsylvania aims to add online sports betting.
Republican State Sen. Tommy Tomlinson and State Rep. Frank Farry, who supported sports betting, were on hand for the event. Farry placed $20 on the Eagles and Tomlinson also put down money.

Prior to Thursday’s official opening, Parx has been testing out the sports betting system.
