
Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate saw a slight uptick in November.
The Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry announced the November unemployment rate was up one-tenth of a percentage point from October to 4.2 percent. The estimated number of Pennsylvanians who were unemployed was up 3,000 from October, but down 40,000 since last November.

The state unemployment rate increase marked the first since July 2016.
The national unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.7 percent in November, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Over the past year, the largest volume of added jobs in Pennsylvania have come from the professional and business services sector, according to state data.
