It has been nearly three months since Haines Road between Route 13 and Junewood Drive was closed because a failing pipe was causing the road to sink.
Bristol Township and the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority have been working with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to get repair work underway.

Due to the fact a state agency-owned pipe is causing the roadway bedding to collapse, the work has to go through several levels of Pennsylvania government, said Council Vice President Cindy Murphy.
Murphy has reached out to State Sen. Tommy Tomlinson and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick in an attempt to speed up the process.
The portion of Haines Road was closed on Wednesday, September 12 when the Bristol Township Public Works Department discovered the road was subsiding.
The closure of the Levittown roadway has annoyed neighbors and those who use the road to drop off and pick up students at Brookwood Elementary School.
The township had initially expected the work to be completed by mid-November.
