A portion of Haines Road that is collapsing in Bristol Township is expected to reopen in mid-November.

The township announced on social media Friday that permitting and tentative construction to repair the sinking roadway between Route 13 and Junewood Drive is underway. The township is working with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority.

The section of roadway was closed on Wednesday, September 12 when the Bristol Township Public Works Department discovered the road was sinking. It was determined that the DCNR pipe that carries the Delaware Canal under Haines Road had holes in it and the roadway bedding was beginning to collapse, Township Engineer Kurt Schroeder said.
