Middletown Community Foundation Awards $7,500 For Additional K-9 Officers

The nonprofit Middletown Community Foundation recently awarded a check to the Middletown Township Police Department. The check was presented last month at the township’s Board of Supervisors meeting.

James Merrill, president of the non-profit, presented the check for $7,500, which he noted was for the acquisitionย and training of additional K-9 units in the township.

The nonprofit raised money to purchaseย two new police dogs for the police department, which recently lost one dog due to a medical retirement and another will be moving up with an officer who has been promoted.

The Middletown Community Foundation is a non-profit organization created to improve the quality of life for individuals who live and work in Middletown by improving public service programs in partnership with other nonprofit Middletown community groups.

As part of the fundraising efforts, theย Middletown Community Foundation held the Woof-A-Palooza Five Miler and Fun Walk at Core Creek Park in early November.
