Special agents from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations were in Falls Township’s Fairless Hills section Thursday for a probe into the alleged sharing of child pornography.

The raid on a home in the 200 block of Chilton Court led to the state Attorney General’s Office filing charges against Altaf Vakhitov, 41, later in the day.

Investigators wrote in court papers that they connected child pornography files that were being downloaded via BitTorrent networks, including more than 100 images of naked children and men performing sex acts with toddlers, to the address over the past several weeks.

Early Thursday morning, a Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office special agent was alerted that the IP address tied to the home’s Verizon account was making files available for downloading, court papers stated.

Within hours, a search warrant had been obtained and signed by an on-call district judge.

At 7:45 a.m. Thursday, state and federal agents raided the home on Chilton Court and found Vakhitov.

About an hour after law enforcement arrived, Vakhitov went out to an evidence vehicle and was interviewed thought a translator provided by the Department of Homeland Security.

Vakhitov stated he had been searching for, downloading, viewing, and masturbating to child pornography since he previously lived in Russia. He admitted to viewing child pornography on Halloween and deleting it after, authorities said.

While being questioned, Vakhitov said he has seen some “really young” kids in the illicit material he has viewed, authorities said.

Vakhitov told investigators he was sorry.

“I understand it is child pornography and it’s not normal,” he reportedly said. “It’s really bad.”

A forensic agent discovered at least six videos of apparent child pornography on a device taken from the home, authorities said.

Vakhitov was charged with one count of criminal use of a communication facility, six counts of child pornography, and 103 counts of disseminating photo or film of child sex acts. He was jailed on 10 percent of $2 million bail.
