See When Local Fire Companies Are Hosting Open Houses

October is fire prevention month and that means local fire stations are hosting open houses.

Bristol Borough

Breaking with past tradition due to scheduling issues, the borough’s fire companies will not be holding a joint fire prevention at Commerce Park but expect to bring it back next year, Fire Chief Herb Slack said. He added that firefighters have been visiting the elementary and preschools to teach students fire safety.

On Saturday, October 20 during Historic Bristol Day, fire prevention information will be available on Radcliffe Street and at the Bristol Fire Company station.

Bristol Township

Croydon Fire Company on State Road will welcome the public to their open house on Wednesday, October 10 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Edgely Fire Company will host their open house on Friday, October 12 at their station on Edgely Avenue. They will hold a hot dog eating contest at 6 p.m. and follow it with live fire competitions, demonstrations, food, vendors, a police K-9 demonstration, and more.

The Newportville Fire Company will be hosting their fire prevention event from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 29 at their station on New Falls Road in Bristol Township.

Levittown Fire Company No. 2 will host fire prevention festivities Saturday, October 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the station on County Way in Bristol Township. The event will feature demonstrations, the chance to try on gear and safety information.

The Third District Volunteer Fire Company in Bristol Township will have a fire prevention open house at their station on Harrison Street Sunday, October 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature live demonstrations, vendors, family fun, and fire trucks.

The Falls Township Fire Company on Yardley Avenue in Fallsington will host their fire prevention event Saturday, October 13 starting at 10 a.m. and running until 2 p.m.

Fairless Hills Fire Company will hold their event on Thursday, October 11 at their station on Hood Boulevard from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Falls Township’s Fairless Hills Fire Company will be hosting their annual open house from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 11 at their station on Hood Boulevard. The open house will have tours, equipment and gear on display and live demonstrations.

Levittown Fire Company No. 1 will host their event on Sunday, October 14 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Levittown Fire Company No. 1 will be at Falls Township Community Park. The event will feature fire trucks, fire displays, refreshments, moon bounces, DJ, demonstrations, and a helicopter landing.

Hulmeville/Langhorne/Langhorne Manor/Penndel/Middletown:

Penndel Fire company will host an open house on Tuesday, October 9 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Fire trucks will be on display and demonstrations will be held. The fire house is located on Centre Street.

The William Penn Fire Company will be hosting a fire prevention event on Saturday, October 6 from 1 until 4 p.m. at their station at on Oxford Valley Road in Middletown. The family-friendly event will feature a medical unit, fire equipment and Marshal from “Paw Patrol,” and a hazmat team.

Tullytown Borough

The Tullytown Fire Company will be hosting their annual fire prevention event in the parking lot of the Levittown Town Center outside Home Depot on Saturday, October 13. There will be demonstrations and emergency vehicles.  The annual event starts at noon.
