Landscaper Sentenced To State Prison, Could Eventually Face More Charges

A Warminster landscaper is headed to state prison for seriously injuring his wife in Falls Township.

Andrew Lawrence Ryan, 32, was sentenced by Bucks County Judge Brian McGuffin to seven to 20 years in state prison Wednesday at the Bucks County Justice Center in Doylestown. He pleaded no contest in July to charges of aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident involving death or injury, recklessly endangering another person, DUI, and reckless driving..

Ryan, according to authorities, was “bickering” with his wife, Robin Ryan, when she flew out of her husband’s silver Ford pickup truck along Lincoln Highway near Oxford Valley Road in Falls Township. The 32-year-old mother’s body hit the pavement and ended up being struck being by the landscaping trailer attached to the truck last July.

By the time police arrived, Robin Ryan was “bleeding profusely from the wound to her skull and her breathing was shallow.” She also suffered an “obvious” leg fracture and a serious wound to the back of her head. Prosecutors have said that if Robin Ryan dies from her injuries, Andrew Ryan could be charged with homicide.

KYW Newsradio reported that James said in court Wednesday that Andrew Ryan had a record of making threats.

“Strangers rushed to her aid, and what did you do? Could there be more cold-hearted indifference?” the judge said to Andrew Ryan at sentencing, according to the newspaper.
