
A Middletown man is in trouble with the law after allege breaking into his ex-wife’s home with a crowbar this past March.
Gregory F. Egan, 47, has been charged with burglary and simple assault after an apparent incident that took place at about 5:30 p.m. on March 28 on Frosty Hollow Road in Middletown’s Levittown section.

According to police paperwork, Egan arrived at the residence driving a sedan with a black crowbar in his hand. When he discovered that the residence was locked, authorities allege that Egan yelled at the inhabitants and began kicking at the door. This resulted in a busted door frame when Egan gained entry.
Police said that once inside, Egan chased his ex-wife around with the black crowbar, yelling “you’re dead!”
Egan fled once he realized that the police had been called, police said.

Egan was charged with burglary, simple assault, and possession of an instrument of crime with the intent. He was arraigned before District Judge John Kelly and bail was at $10,000 unsecured.
