Neshaminy Graduates Urged To Take Risks

Thursday marked the end of high school for 662 Neshaminy seniors.

The stands of the heartbreak bridge stadium were packed with friends and family cheering on their graduate.

Superintendent Joseph Jones told the students to “be generous and share the best parts of life.”

This year, Neshaminy High School had three valedictorians – Rachel Hoenisch, Nicholas Meadows, and Albert Shen.

Hoenisch told her peers every one of their paths will be different after graduation. Some will enter the workforce, some will joined the military, and others will head to further their education.

“Still, we all have this moment in common,” she said.

“We learned to trust our instincts and not be afraid to take risks,” Meadows said. He added that his class needs to take risks.

Shen pointed to the accomplishments of peers and thanked teachers.

Principal Dr. Rob McGee, who will be moving to new role as an administrator this summer, told students that graduating high school is the end of a journey but a much longer one is about to begin.

Echoing his comments last year, McGee urged students to look at different points of view and passionately debate the issues of the day.

“We need you. Your community needs you. Your nation needs you, and our world needs you,” he said.
