It took several dozen volunteers about three hours to set up tens of thousands of Americans flags at Falls Township Community Park.
The dazzling display of 70,000 American flags pays honor to the country’s Vietnam War losses and those killed in recent conflicts in the Middle East.

The three-day 33rd annual Donald W. Jones Flag Memorial will continue Saturday with bands that will start at noon and continue into the evening. The concert is free and open to the public.
On Sunday, a motorcycle rally will kick off at the Bristol Township Vietnam Veterans Memorial outside the Municipal Complex on Bath Road at noon. The group will then ride over to the flag display and hold a ceremony to remember all who gave their life in the line of service starting at 1 p.m.
Volunteers are also needed to help disassemble the flag display Sunday afternoon, said Donnie Jones, who is the son of the flag tribute’s namesake.

The 65,000 thousand flags that make up the bulk of the memorial have been carefully placed in the ground in the same design as the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington D.C. Bristol Township-based Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans put on the display.
Jones said he sees newer veterans coming to the memorial every year.
