Two pet ducks have gone missing after they were released near Neshaminy High School following a high school prank.
Students, parents, and police confirm the ducks were set loose in the Middletown high school Friday morning as part of a senior prank. The ducks were rounded up by school staff and then released into the wild near the high school.

Cynthia Bridge said her two brown-colored ducks were about two months old and taken from her backyard overnight. She was alerted to the fact the ducks were in the high school after her daughter saw a SnapChat post and noticed a distinctive limp one of the birds had.
By the time the Middletown woman contacted the school, she learned the ducks had already been let free. School administrators thought the students used wild ducks and did not realize they were pets, she said.
Bridge’s concern is that the ducks – Whiz and Khaki – are accustomed to being fed by humans and may not have the ability to survive on their own in the heavily wooded area behind the high school and along the Neshaminy Creek.

“We’re going to pray for the best,” she said, adding that she had looked for two hours Friday.
The duck duo were taken from a fenced in area on Bridge’s property, which also is the home to chickens and rabbits.

“I understand that kids are kids, but this was pretty brutal for kids,” Bridge told LevittownNow.com.
The school district did not respond to a request for comment on the incident.
Middletown police confirmed they were actively investigating the case as of Friday afternoon.

“We’re working with the high school, looking at video to see if we can determine who the pranksters were who brought the ducks into the high school,” a police official said.
