Gary Goddard, 48, of Bristol Township’s Croydon section, was arrested and awaiting arraignment as of early Tuesday evening on charges of homicide and possessing an instrument of crime.

Detectives from Bristol Township and the Bucks County Detectives allege that Goddard shot Zyisean “Ziggy” McDuffie, 19, one time before standing over him and firing additional shots into his body along Elmhurst Avenue last Friday evening.

Goddard, according to police, opened fire after Joseph Williams, 19, began shooting at McDuffie, Tommy Ballard, 19, and Jahmire “Man Montana” Wilson, who was not seriously wounded. The 48 year old fired after approaching the area from Weston Avenue. A second older man stood behind him and had a firearm in his hand, but it was unclear if he pulled the trigger.

Both Goddard and the second unnamed older man fled the area. One of the men was heard saying, “let’s go, Statik. Let’s go.”

“Statik” is reportedly a street name for one of Goddard’s family members who he was spotted with in an SUV shortly after the shooting.

A witness who investigators spoke with confirmed Goddard was the man who shot McDuffie.

Police are still investigating who fired the fatal shots that killed Ballard.

The investigation into the double homicide that happened Friday evening in Bristol Township continues to move forward.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office confirmed Tuesday morning that they are seeking a second person related to the case but did not release further information on the subject.

The names of the two men who were killed have not released by authorities as of Tuesday morning. Several people close to the victims identified them as Tommy Ballard and Zyisean “Ziggy” McDuffie, both 19 and from Lower Bucks County. A balloon release and gathering to remember the two men was held in the Bloomsdale-Fleetwing section of the township over the weekend.

Court papers filed last Saturday noted that three men, including 18-year-old Joseph Williams, who has been charged with attempted homicide, were spotted running from the scene of the shooting in the 900 block of Elmhurst Avenue last Friday evening.

A revolver with spent shelling casings was found in a wooded area behind a home in the 700 block of Winder Drive and Williams and at least one other young man were found a few homes down by police.

Police sources said numerous shots were fired in the shooting and possibly by more than one weapon.

In court papers filed following the incident, police said Williams was outside of a home in the 900 block of Elmhurst Avenue around 7 p.m. Friday when a gray Chrysler 300 pulled up and several men got out. There was an argument and Williams pulled a handgun from his waistband before firing it at Jahmire Wilson, known to friends as Man Montana.

Police from Bristol Township and nearby towns responded to the scene and found Ballard and McDuffie. They were rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital by medics and pronounced dead.

Law enforcement and neighborhood sources said Wilson left the scene following the shooting. It was unclear if he was injured.

Two of the bullets fired struck the side and kitchen of a nearby home that had five people, including a toddler, inside. No one in the home was hurt.

As LevittownNow.com first reported over the weekend, Williams, who was then 14, and his mother received national attention in 2013 when it was alleged Tullytown police assaulted the boy following a traffic stop relating to an incident at Walmart. The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and the FBI cleared Tullytown police of wrongdoing.

Williams, according to several people who know him, has had run-ins with police since the Tullytown incident. The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office said they were unable to comment on any possible juvenile record.

Williams remained in Bucks County lockup as of Tuesday on 10 percent of $750,000 bail.
