Home Left Uninhabitable After Minivan Plows Into It

A teenage driver escaped injury Friday afternoon after falling asleep at the wheel and crashing his vehicle into a Falls Township home.

The crash happened at approximately 4:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Trenton Road in the Fairless Hills section of the township.

The 17-year-old Bristol Township boy was driving alone in a silver Dodge Caravan when he fell asleep, left the roadway, and struck the occupied residence, police said.

An man was inside the home at the time of the collision but was not injured, police said.

After an evaluation of the property, the Falls Township Fire Marshal’s Office found the residence was unsafe and uninhabitable due to the structural damage caused by the crash, police said.

The teenage driver reported no initial injuries at the scene, but police said he later traveled via personal vehicle to an area hospital for a medical evaluation.

The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
