Firefighters Free Man From Flipped Van

Firefighters worked to cut a man from his damaged work van Thursday afternoon along West Lincoln Highway.

The crash happened at West Lincoln Highway and Glen Avenue in Penndel around 2:20 p.m. after the van smashed into a utility pole and flipped onto its side.

The driver did not appear to suffer life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital by the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad, police said.

Firefighters from the Parkland, Penndel, Trevose, and William Penn fire companies used special rescue equipment to cut away the roof of the van to remove the injured driver.
