Investigation Into Badly Injured Teen Girl, Cousin With Gunshot Wound Underway

UPDATE: Authorities Confirm 14-Year-Old Girl Was Shot, Stabbed In Croydon

A teenage girl was badly hurt in an apparent assault in Bristol Township’s Croydon section, police and neighbors said late Friday night.

The girl’s parents arrived to their home on Sycamore Avenue Friday to find their daughter had been the “victim of a vicious assault,” police said.

The girl was rushed to St. Christopher’s Hospital in Philadelphia in critical condition. Her exact injuries were not released by investigators.

The girl’s 19-year-old cousin was missing from the Croydon home when she was found. He was located later along State Road in Bensalem with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

The exact details on what transpired were not clear as of early Saturday morning.

The Bucks County Rescue Squad and Croydon Fire Company were dispatched to the 400 block of Sycamore Avenue shortly before 6:40 p.m. for a serious medical call, according to a dispatch log.

Neighbors said police remained on the scene late in to Friday night.

“There’s a lot of activity back and forth near the incident,” a Croydon resident said in a Friday night email to LevittownNow.com.
