A celebration decades in the making took place at Levittown’s Five Points intersection starting just moments after the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl Sunday night.
Seconds after the end of the big game and a minute or so after the rain stopped falling, the first fans ran from all sides into the intersection that was blocked off by police, fire police and public works trucks to celebrate the Eagles.

Bristol Township and Middletown police had a plan to put into place as the game neared its end. Public works trucks and fire police pulled up and stopped traffic from going through the intersection while police officers watched the crowd.
“It’s closed so you guys can celebrate,” one police officer told the first revelers.
At least one young woman was spotted being taken into custody by Bristol Township police and a Middletown police supervisor had a stern talk with a young man who climbed one of the intersection’s traffic signal poles.

However, the celebration stayed mostly under control from its start around 10:15 p.m. until it began to break up around midnight.
The Eagles theme song was sung by the enlivened crowd. Chants of “F**k Tom Brady” and “Big D**k Nick (Foles)” roared from the intersection throughout the night. Even a few dog masks were spotted.

“Yes, I was super pumped,” the Levittown resident said. “You see. I have no voice.”
Younger kids were escorted by their parents and fought back sleep to take in the historic sports celebration.

At the Dick’s Sporting Goods in Falls Township, as many as a thousand fans were lined up within moments of the Eagles winning the Super Bowl. They were there to get their hands on Super Bowl championship merchandise. Due to the huge crowd that was building as of midnight, police were on hand and staff were letting customers in the store in groups.
Area sports apparel retailers were expected to open early Monday to sell Super Bowl championship merchandise to fans eager to purchase them.
