A Middletown barbershop owner has made a friendly wager with a Boston-area barbershop over Sunday’s big game.
Anthony Canamucio, the owner of Anthony’s Barbershop on Woodbourne Road, saw a few local officials and organizations making wagers with their counterparts in New England and decided that he wanted to get in on the fun.

After searching for a little, Canamucio found Rich Firicano, the owner at Firicano’s Barbershop in Boston. A short conversation later and the terms of a wager were set: If the Eagles win the Super Bowl, Firicano will be sending Boston Creme Donuts from their local and acclaimed doughnut shop. If the Patriots win, Canamucio will be sending Philly soft pretzel roll cheesesteaks to Boston.
“We made the connection right away,” Canamucio said.

The cheesesteaks on a pretzel roll will be supplied by Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint, a short jaunt from the barbershop to Middletown’s Parkland section. Canamucio consulted with eatery owner Jason Green before agreeing to the bet to make sure that the sandwiches would be easily transferable.

When asked about his chances and the chances of the Eagles in the big game, Canamucio said he is confident they will pull out a win.
“There is so much confidence amongst the fans coming into my shop,” Canamucio said. “It’s just a fun atmosphere.”

From what he can gather, people just don’t feel like the Eagles are going to let us down this time.
