The annual Bristol Township Holiday Parade took to Mill Creek and Haines roads Saturday afternoon as crowds lined the route.
Rain showers hit a few times during the parade but the bulk of the precipitation held off until Santa arrived at Brookwood Elementary School, marking the end of the holiday tradition.

Sue Temple and Danelle Wilson were watching the parade on Haines Road with their dogs. Living just a few streets away in the Farmbrook neighborhood, the two have been coming to the holiday parade for years.
“It’s nice because this is the first real parade of the season,” Temple said.
The neighborhood event brings together local bands, dance groups, scouting organizations and politicians. This year marked the 17th holiday parade in the township. It also was the first year the route was reversed.

“It’s good to see everyone come out,” said Frank O’Brien, who was visiting the parade route from the Bath Addition section of the township with Sue Thomas.
The duo always comes out for the holiday parade and has plans to attend Bristol Borough’s Christmas parade next Saturday.

The parades give people a chance to get out of the house, O’Brien said.
