
Flames shot through the roof of a home in Middletown’s Levittown section Saturday afternoon.
The home on Larkspur Road suffered heavy smoke, water and heat damage after flames spread through the second floor and attic around 1 p.m., William Penn Fire Company Deputy Chief Jim Bampfield said.

Firefighters from around the area launched an aggressive attack on the flames and were able to knock down the bulk of the fire in about 30 minutes, Bampfield said.
A woman, her mother and two kids fled the home after the fire was discovered.
The cause of the blazed remained under investigation by the fire marshal’s office.

No injuries were reported.
Crews from the Levittown No 2., Newport, Newportville and Parkland fire companies assisted the William Penn Fire Company at the scene. An ambulance from the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad also responded.
