Family Business In Falls Twp. To Expand

A family business in Falls Township is expected to nearly double in size following approval from township officials.

The township granted unanimous approval for Accu-Fire Protection to expand its 75,000-square-foot operation by an additional 50,000 square feet with the construction of a new industrial building. The new building, which will be situated on the companyโ€™s six-acre property within the former U.S. Steel site, will supplement the existing Accu-Fire fabrication operations.Owner Vince Murphy told the Falls Supervisors that his business, which began in 1991, creates customized piping for fire sprinkler systems, as well as pipe valves and fittings and sprinkler heads. His customers are from New York City, Washington D.C., Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Some of Accu-Fireโ€™s recent projects include work at the Washington D.C. Convention Center; the Sahara Samโ€™s Indoor Water Park in New Jersey; the U.S. Capitol Building; the Dulles Airport expansion inย Dulles, Virginia; the Statue of Liberty; the Baltimore Washington International Airport; and the Veteranโ€™s Hospital in Philadelphia.

“We focus on the large, successful contractors and theyโ€™ve been good to us,” Murphy said. “Weโ€™ve continued to grow.”
