UPDATE: Husband Charged As Wife Remains In Critical Condition
A woman was in surgery Monday evening after witnesses told police she was pushed out of a moving vehicle.

It was about 5:45 p.m. when the woman, who was clinging onto the center compartment, ended up out of a vehicle and on the side of eastbound Lincoln Highway outside the Oxford Point Shopping Center in Fairless Hills, Falls Township police Lt. Hank Ward said.
The woman suffered serious head trauma and was rushed by the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad to St. Mary Medical Center, Ward said.
The police official told LevittownNow.com witnesses saw the driver of the vehicle, who was the injured woman’s husband, speeding in the moments before he is suspected of pushing her out during an apparent argument.

Pennsylvania State Police, according to Ward, caught up with the woman’s husband along Trenton Road in the area of Elmwood Road in Fairless Hills. He was taken into custody on suspicion of being intoxicated.

Pens and other debris from the center console were strewn on the side of the road as Falls detectives and officers marked evidence.

Ward said several witnesses called 9-1-1 and kept up with the woman’s husband until he was stopped by troopers.
As of 7:15 p.m., Langhorne Borough police Chief Steve Mawhinney, a member of the district attorney’s homicide by vehicle task force and a highly recognized accident investigation expert, was summoned to the scene to assist in the probe into what happened.
Detectives were awaiting a search warrant related to the case and remained at the scene as storms rolled in.

Eastbound Lincoln Highway was closed between Oxford Valley Road and the exit of the Oxford Point Shopping Center.
