A pedestrian was seriously hurt after being struck by a vehicle Sunday evening.
The pedestrian was struck along Newportville Road between Neshaminy Road and Charles Avenue around 7:45 p.m.

Initial information from the scene indicated the pedestrian was badly injured and rushed to the hospital.
The vehicle involved in the incident ended up crashing through a brick retaining wall and just missed a home, Croydon Fire Company Chief Tom Tryon said.
Firefighters were on location and providing lighting along Newportville Road as of 9 p.m.. Traffic was being diverted in the area of the crash.

Police called in their accident investigators to the scene to determine what happened.
