Gas Main Break Briefly Causes Evacuation

A gas main break caused the brief evacuation of some residents along Cedar Avenue in Bristol Township’s Croydon Tuesday morning.

The incident happened mid-morning along the 700 block of Cedar Avenue.

PECO crews worked to plug the gas leak and quickly were able to place everyone back in their homes. The Croydon Fire Company stood by to make sure the scene was safe.

Cedar Avenue was closed in the area of New York Avenue and State Road by Bristol Township Fire Police.
