A group of students from Falls Township’s elementary schools took part in the Police Chief for a Day program recently.

The 15 students from the Pennsbury School District were recognized earlier this week by Falls Chief of Police Bill Wilcox for taking part in the program.

“The purpose of this program was to allow students to experience what I experience on any given day,” the chief said before the Board of Supervisors.

Teachers and principals helped select the 15 students for the program.

Wilcox said the students were taken to District Judge Jan Vislosky’s courthouse and sworn in. They were given a badge and attended roll-call with township officers. From there, the group toured the police station’s evidence locker, processing area and armory.

“The got to see how a police station operates on a regular day,” Wilcox explained.
