The Croydon Memorial Day Parade marches along State Road every year, and Roger and Monica Scarborough are two State Road residents who look forward to the festivities each and every year.
For the Scarboroughs, Memorial Day is about remembering and honoring the fallen veterans and servicemen who gave everything for the country. The two are very patriotic, as is evident by the decorations in and around their home.

“The veterans are the only reason we are able to sit outside and have this discussion,” Roger said.
While the day is about remembering and honoring those who gave all for the nation, lots of people use the weekend as a time to host cookouts and barbecues.
Throughout the weekend, the Scarboroughs host and go to a number of different picnics and enjoy their family, friends and neighbors’ company.

“You see people now that you might not see all year,” Roger Scarborough said. That community is part of what makes Croydon great, heย added.
“Croydon is so underrated, and it should really be overrated,” the 25-year Croydon residentย said.
