Bristol Township’s Pro-Team swept the Primary Election Tuesday.
Democratic Council President Craig Bowen, Raymond Blalock, Council Vice President Cynthia Murphy and former Mayor John Monahan beat out fellow party members Howard Allen, Janet Keyser, Alexis Koenig and Roxanne Richardson. Allen is a current Council member but will now lose his seat when his term expires.

Residents John McClay and Susan Lewis, both Democrats, also ran for Council but did not gain enough votes to make the November ballot.
No Republicans ran for Council.
The race between the Pro-Team and the establishment Democrats, which are led by Keyser, involved large signs placed throughout the township, mailers and plenty of rumor mongering. The slate of candidates frontlined by Keyser and Allen drew attention and some criticism for their signs that said “crackdown on the drug homes.”

While the Pro-Team have worked to cut down of expenses, improve services and even provide a small tax break during their time in office, they have also continued Bristol Township’s tradition of scandals, including harsh criticism of Township Manager Bill McCauley.
