The Neshaminy School District has an updated hazing policy on the books.
The school board unanimously voted last month to approve the updated policy that firms up how they deal with hazing incidents.

District spokesman Chris Stanley said that the updated policy was required to meet state guidelines. “The district already has a harassment policy, but the new guidelines require specific language and policies for hazing,” he said.
“The purpose of this policy is to maintain a safe, positive environment for students and staff that is free from hazing. Hazing activities of any type are inconsistent with the educational goals of the district and are prohibited at all times,” the policy reads.
The policy outlines hazing as “any action or situation which recklessly or intentionally endangers the mental or physical health or safety of a person or which willfully destroys or removes public or private property for the purpose of initiation or admission into or affiliation with, or as a condition of continued membership in, any organization.”

The district said they do not condone hazing and advise students who are victims of hazing to come forward to make a report, which will be investigated by administrators and possibly even law enforcement.
At the district level, administrators can put forth a series of disciplinary action, including expulsion.
