Car Crashes Into Tree, Bursts Into Flames On I-95 Ramp

A car crashed into a tree and burst into flames on the Route 1 ramp that leads to I-95 in Middletown Wednesday.

The car crash and fire was reported around 12:10 p.m. right at the foot of the I-95 northbound ramp. The black Nissan went off the road and into a tree and underbrush.

The crews from the Falls Township and Langhorne-Middletown fire companies rushed to put down the flames. Middletown and state police blocked the ramp until the fire was out and traffic resumed, Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said.

No injuries were reported in the single-car crash, Farry said.
