Christmas has always been Adam Weinberg’s favorite holiday and in recent years, he has made that very clear to his neighbors.

Everyone knows of the Elderberry Lights on Elderberry Drive in Falls Township’s Levittown section and the nearby massive display in Willowoodย butย just around the corner and visible from the Elderberry Drive displayย is 5 Evergreen Lane.

A quick glance at the house reveals an elaborate and well decorated home. Closer examination, if only for a few seconds, reveals that the lights are flashing to music.

For the past four years, the house has been equipped with a music box that plays tunes audibly through the air. There is no FM transmitter, but the music is loud enough to hear by rolling down car windows or walking by the house.

Working at Sesame Place, Weinberg was inspired by the amount of lights the theme park puts up for the holiday season. He worked to take his passion for Christmas and his inspiration to create his own display at home.

Having recently graduated from Kutztown University, Weinberg has been setting up the lights consistently for years.

Even though his display isn’t the most well known in Levittown or even Elderberry, there is a lot of positive feedback on the house when people see it from the street and drive by after visiting the Warrell family’s Elderberry Lights display,ย Weinberg said.

“One of the main reasons I continue to put up such an elaborate display is because of the enjoyment it brings people,” Weinberg said.

The display takes a few weeks to set up, with Weinberg doing the brunt of the work. When he needs help with something, his dad is always willing to work with him to put up the best display possible.

Living so near to the Elderberry Lights has had an impact on Weinberg’s drive to continue bettering his Christmas display. Whenever there is a logistical problem, Weinberg said he might go to Milt Warrell, who puts of Elderberry Lights for assistance, like was the case with the light arch over the driveway.

Creating a display is a ritual of the season for Weinberg, and he plans to continue his efforts even after he eventually moves out of his parent’s home.
