According to police, a resident in the 300 block of Greenridge Drive in Middletown called 9-1-1 to report a burglary with a suspect fleeing on foot around 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The 94-year-old victim of the home invasion robbery escaped out the side of her home while Cloma was inside of her home.
An officer searched the area and found Cloma on nearby Penncrest Drive. Upon stopping the 23-year-old suspect, he reportedly stated, “this is just a big misunderstanding.”
Johnson and a four-year-old boy were found in a car parked outside the elderly woman’s Greenridge Drive home.

The 94-year-old told police she was inside her home laying down when she heard a knock on her door. She was able to see the front door from where she was laying and did not recognize the man at the door so she ignored his presence. He kept knocking and eventually she went to the landing near the front door.
While standing at the landing, Cloma allegedly broke through the front door and pushed her to the floor.

Cloma asked the woman for money and she replied she didn’t have any. At that time, she complied with Cloma’s request that she hand over a number of items of jewelry, police said, adding Cloma told the woman he would not hurt her before he went upstairs.

While the suspect was upstairs, the 94 year old snuck out of the house and alerted her neighbors to the crime, police said.
As one of the neighbors called 9-1-1, another went up to the idling car in the elderly woman’s driveway and turned the vehicle off. She told Johnson, who was seated in the car with the boy, that she was not going anywhere and police were called, court papers stated.

The neighbors told investigators that while they were waiting for police to arrive, Cloma approached them and said there was a misunderstanding and he had the wrong house. Once being advised that police were coming, Cloma reportedly turned away and walked off.
Officers said they found some of the 94 year old’s jewelry in Cloma’s pocket.
