Per reports, an older white male with gray hair had pulled over to speak to a Pearl Buck Elementary School student who had just gotten off the bus. The male reportedly asked the boy if he needed a ride home and then calmly drove off when the boy said he lived close by. The boy’s mother who was standing nearby, saw the exchange but was unable to record the tag on the black Toyota Camry before the vehicle drove off. The vehicle was not located after police were notified.

Parents and guardians are being asked by police to use the instance as an opportunity to speak to theirย children, regardless of age, about strangers. Children are encouraged to walk in groups and older children are asked to be good buddies to younger children when walking home. Any suspicious incidents should be reported to police.
