New School Gets Temporary Certificate of Occupancy

The last of three new Bristol Township elementary schools has received its Temporary Certificate of Occupancy.

Bristol Township School District Superintendent Dr. Melanie Gerhens confirmed that the  permit was received Friday. With the permit, the school is set to open for students next week at the new building in Croydon.

Furniture and supplies have been moved into the new school over the past several weeks.

Elementary school-aged students who attended Lafayette, Maple Shade and Mary Devine elementary schools will begin classes in the new building next week.

Interest Shown In Closed Bristol Twp. Schools

Upon the start of the new school year, the district will complete consolidation from nine elementary schools to three new buildings. The two other new 1,300-student elementary schools – Brookwood and Mil Creek – are located in Levittown and replace six buildings in those neighborhoods.

Ribbons will be cut at all three new schools Tuesday at 5 p.m. Tours will follow after the ribbon cutting ceremony.
