A single-vehicle crash in Middletown sent one man to the hospital and slowed area rail service.
Around 4:30 p.m., a pickup truck on Hulmeville Road struck the railroad bridge support and burst into flames, according to Parkland Fire Company Chief Bob Barnes.

The driver of the pickup truck was injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment, the chief said.
Due to the truck crashing and catching fire against the bridge that carries the CSX cargo and SEPTA West Trenton Regional Rail line, train traffic was stopped for a period of time so the bridge could be inspected. Officials from SEPTA and CSX were called out and deemed the bridge safe for rail service to resume.
SEPTA Regional Rail trains were operating with a delay as of 5:30 p.m. due to the incident.
